With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, Linda K. Fisher, 66 of Greenwood, Indiana, who passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024, in the home of her sister, Joanne. Linda was born in Warrington, England, on January 21, 1958, to Wilbur Lewis and the late Brenda (Ashman) Lewis. Linda possessed a faithful servant’s heart, was a mighty prayer warrior, and a respected nurse. Only God knows the eternal impact her years of faithful caregiving and prayer have had on those on the receiving end.
She spoke most about her faith and trust in her Savior, Jesus Christ. Even in her final days, when she lacked the energy and breath to say, she praised the Lord and encouraged others to follow him.
Linda spent much of her time with family and friends, primarily her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is missed and fondly remembered for her gentle eyes, infectious laugh, and warm embrace. As a mother, she led by example, encouraged self-respect, instilled morals, and was a fierce protector. As a nurse, she was compassionate, attentive, and quick to offer her hand in support. As a sister, she was loyal, loving, and a confidant. As a grandmother, she was proud, gentle, and trusted. No matter the role, she displayed strength, integrity, and love unconditionally.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David and John Lewis, and her nephew, John K. Lewis.
Linda was a member of Eternal Life Baptist Church in Mooresville.
To honor her memory, take one of her strengths and virtues and make it your own. Although our hearts are heavy, let us cherish the time we shared and find comfort in the fact that she is in Heaven, finally at peace.
“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26
She is survived by her children, Chris (Melissa) Inpongpan, Amanda Fisher, Maryanne (Ryan) Schmeler; siblings, Raymond (Rita) Lewis, Brenda (Greg) Bauer, Joanne (David) Endsley, Robert (Angie) Lewis; seven grandchildren, Kaiden (Alexis) Peavler, Riley, Cohen, Mason Schmeler, Greyson, Jackson Samson Whittaker; and great granddaughter, Ella Peavler.
There will be no graveside service. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents and brother at Acton Cemetery in Acton at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eternal Life Baptist Church, 8554 E. Hendricks County Road, Mooresville, IN 46158.
