On Saturday, April 27, 2024, Laura Jean (Maxwell) Mrozinski, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of sixty-eight, following a courageous five ½ year battle with small cell lung cancer. Known as “Sis” to many family members, she lived each day of her life bolstered by her faith and deep love for her family.
Born on January 30, 1956, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Laura touched the lives of those around her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she remained hopeful that she would have more time to spend with the people she loved.
A self-described “news junkie,” she was always quick to report on current events, and it was impossible to beat her to the punch. Her love for her family would often take the shape of tracking the status of their flights or carefully monitoring road conditions across the country, so she could be fully prepared to offer important travel advice. We are certain she will continue to serve as her family’s guardian angel, making certain that everyone safely arrives at their destinations.
Laura was passionate about all flowers, both the fresh bouquets that nearly always decorated her house and the abundant varieties found planted in and around her yard. And she loved her dogs – boy did she love her dogs - and had a soft spot for those that were old or came from unfortunate circumstances.
Prior to her illness, Laura spent 25 years as an administrative assistant with the Indiana Hospital Association.
Survivors include the love of her life, her husband of 23 years, Bill Mrozinski, her son Eric (Jennifer) Maxwell, and the two grandchildren she adored, Kennedy Claire and Beckham Carter Maxwell. She is also survived by sisters Cathy Armold (Bob), Kelly Maxwell, and Leanne Maxwell as well as her three nieces and two great nieces.
Laura is predeceased by father, Morrill Maxwell, mother, Virginia Maxwell, and brother David Maxwell.
May Laura rest in eternal peace, and may she be remembered for the love and light brought into the lives of others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
