Larry W. Stewart
March 5, 1943 - January 23, 2020
Larry Wayne Stewart, 76, of Sheridan, Indiana, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 23, 2020. He was born on March 5, 1943 in Lebanon, Indiana.
In the spring of 1962, Larry graduated from Westfield High School, then joined the Marine Corps that Fall. He served his country well, in Vietnam, Japan and Okinawa. He received his honorable discharge in 1966.
Larry worked in maintenance at Glendale Mall and L.S. Ayers, and was an electrician at Asphaugh Electric.
Larry loved making furniture, wood projects and fishing.
In 1998, he and his wife, Diana, moved to Green Valley, Arizona, where he was self-employed as a handyman. He felt led by God to return to Indiana for him and his wife to help care for his parents until their passing. In 2013, they moved to South Carolina for retirement. Five years later they moved back to Indiana because of his declining health.
Larry is survived by his wife, Diana, of 56 years, and children Angela (James Maples) Kletzli of Sumter, South Carolina, Audra (Paul Sheahan) Stewart of Lannon, Wisconsin, and Anne (Tom) Cotham of Sheridan, Indiana, Grandsons, Brandon (JerryLyn) Budnick, Brian (Sara) Budnick, Tony Mucci, Zachary (Monica Regner) Mucci, and Great-granddaughter, Nora Budnick. He is also survived by his sisters, Sylvia (William) Kirkman, Sonja (David) Ashpaugh, Pamela (Neil) Mendenhall, and Sister-in-law, Ann Stewart, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Martha Stewart, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Inez Hash, and brothers, Donald Stewart and Thomas Stewart, and Nephew, Donald Stewart, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Six Points Church, 1545 W. 226th, Sheridan, IN. Services will immediately begin at 12:00 Noon. Graveside service with Military Honors will follow at Hamilton Memorial Park, Westfield, IN.
