Larry Wayne Cushenberry, Senior, was born to Luther Cushenberry and Phyllis James-Dickerson on May 3rd, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He transitioned to his eternal home on November 8th, 2023. At an early age Larry professed his life to Christ. His love for Christ was very important to him and he studied his bible daily. Larry received his high school education at Shortridge high school and graduated in 1969. He then attended Muskegon Community College of Michigan state. His high school and college careers were highlighted by his athletic skills in basketball. He was also a talented guitar artist and played in many local bands around the city. Larry based the majority of his work life employed as a driver at Fed Ex and has worked at a multitude of companies afterwards. Larry leaves to cherish his memory his children, Larry Cushenberry Jr. (son), Lorraine Cushenberry (daughter), and Antonio Cushenberry (son); his two grandchildren; Kaysee Williams, and Alana Burris; his siblings; Derek Cushenberry, Amber Dukes, and Crystal Bigbee; and his loving Aunt Sally Mitchell; many nieces and nephews, and a great deal of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Cushenberry and Phyllis James-Dickerson; as well as his brother, Aaron Cushenberry.
Services for Larry will be held, Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN, 46250. Family and friends may gather from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Larry’s online guestbook and condolences can be shared online with the family at www.indianafuneralcare.com.
