Kristina M. “Tina” (Benton) Shine, 66, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at her home.
She was born on Sunday, January 24, 1954 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to the late Leland and Elsie (Newswanger) Benton. She graduated from McCaskey High School in Lancaster, PA. She also attended and graduated from McCann School of Business and later St. Joseph School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, most recently at Methodist Hospital then Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Tina enjoyed many things in her life such as family reunions, small get togethers, her dogs, cooking, baking, reading mysteries and self-help books, crossword puzzles, traveling, collecting sea shells, and shopping for clothes and just about anything else that caught her eye including reflecting sun catchers that are always on her windows. She was able to spot a deal every time and would get one hundred-dollar items for five bucks!
She is survived by her husband, George W. (Bill) Shine; children, Stephanie Shine and her wife Tammy, Racheal Shine and her husband Chad Bement, George W. Shine III and his wife Misti; brothers, Thomas Benton and his wife Jane, Tim Benton; and granddaughter, Kathryn Shine.
Tina is preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Elsie Benton; and aunt, Mildred Nixdorf and her husband Donald.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care/Greenwood Chapel, then again on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am.
Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery. Due to restrictions from Covid-19 burial will be private.
