Kristin Leigh (Smith) Bixler, Zionsville, Indiana, age 59, was found deceased April 8, 2024.
Kristin was born November 12, 1964, in Indianapolis and grew up in Vincennes, Indiana. She attended Indiana University, where she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority and graduated with a degree in finance. Kristin worked as a Financial Services Specialist for the Travelers Companies, as Marketing and Operations Manager for Mid States Insurance, and as a realtor with the firm she co-founded, Bixler Steele.
Kristin was a passionate advocate for those suffering from Asperger’s, autism, and dyslexia, serving as Branch President of the International Dyslexia Association and a volunteer for the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana. Kristin’s beautiful smile and loving demeanor brought joy to all around her. She loved animals, nature and the environment, but most of all, she loved her sons, family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Graham, Preston, Bond, and Ross Bixler (Dia Bryant); mother, Susan Murphy Smith; sisters, Cynthia Lucchese (Gino) and Lori Smith (Lynn Ralston); niece Alexandria Lucchese Weidman (Michael); nephew Brock Lucchese (Hannah Schmidt); and great nieces Adelaide and Eloise Weidman. Kristin was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Smith, and father, Charles R. Smith.
The world has lost a beautiful soul, but heaven has gained an angel.
A private burial/celebration of life will be held at a later date.
