Kim Diane Cox, 66, passed away on September 5,2023 at Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, Hawaii. She was born on August 31,1957 in Noblesville Indiana to Stephen Riley and Melba Ruth (Randall) Cox.
Kim grew up in Carmel Indiana. She graduated from Carmel High School in 1975. After high school she attended Vincennes University. Kim was married and adopted four children. She later divorced. She had various jobs including being a firefighter and working in retail. After living in Illinois, Florida and Alaska, Kim returned to live in Carmel. She lived with both of her parents at the time of their deaths. After dedicating years to parenting, she established a career in Student Loan Services working at Nelnet, Chase and lastly Sallie Mae until her death.
Kim was a people lover and an animal lover. She loved fishing, travel, crafting, cooking and her pets. She enjoyed helping others and never met a stranger. Despite ongoing health challenges, Kim always maintained a positive attitude and lived life fully. She had a witty sense of humor and looked for the bright side. She persevered with faith and hope. The last week of her life was a peaceful and happy celebration of achieving some of her life goals.
Kim was preceded in death by her father Steve in 2010 and her mother Ruth in 2018. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Garrison, daughter Jill Fritz, son Aaron Garrison and son Randy Garrison: sister Jan (Cox) Norlin (Wayne); brother Eric Cox (Debbie); grandchildren Ann Kaleff, Isabella Jensen and Harper Bland; nieces and nephews Geoff, Jennifer, Jessica, Laura, Justin, Joanna, Anthony, Jordan and 17 great nieces and nephews.
