Born 5/11/44 to Orville and Thelma Toler, residents of Clermont, Indiana. Kenny grew up there and attended Clermont grade school and graduated from Ben Davis High in 1962.
He enlisted in the U.S.M.C. reserve: 6 months active duty and 4 years inactive duty. He then joined the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, where he worked for 5 years before transferring to Dade County Florida for another 5 years.
After a brief stint in The Border Patrol in Mercedes, Texas, he returned to Sarasota, Florida. There, he and his team of sharpshooters, won numerous awards, both locally and nationally.
In 1980 he retired from the Department to return to Indiana to be with family. Once again, he joined the Marion County Sheriff’s Department to work in the Decatur School System.
Kenny leaves behind his high school sweetheart and wife of 4 years, Sue Toler; daughter, Tanya (Dale) Drye; brother, Loren (Barbara) Toler; grandsons, Gage Anderson and Easton Drye. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
