Kelley “Kel” Earl Long, 55, Indianapolis, passed away with his loved ones by his side on Thursday, July 26, 2024. He was born June 27, 1969, in Winchester, IN, to the late Larry Harold Dutch Long and Sharon Lee (Kelley) Long.
After completing his education, Kel worked for much of his life, and was later employed at Martin & Roberts Roofing as an applicator. He later met his partner Anita Dunn, and they were able to spend over 14 years by each other’s sides overcoming whatever obstacles came their way.
Kel was a loving partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, who also had many joys in life. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, camping and being outside whenever he could. Kel loved animals, especially the many critters that he and Anita cared for over the years. He would often go visit a local neighboring farm to pass the time and found peace being with the animals. Kel also loved to ride motorcycles with friends and enjoyed his E&J Brandy. His greatest joy in life, however, was the time he spent with his family and friends, who will all miss him very much.
He is survived by his partner, Anita Dunn; children, Jorden (Autumn) Long, Cody (Kayla) Long, Chelsea Isenhart, and Robert (Brittany) Dunn; sisters, LeEtta Brewer and Charlynn (Kip) Jackman; brother, Brian Long; his 12 grandchildren; one aunt; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; good friend, Jeff; as well as his fur-kids, Bobos, Lucky, and G.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Harold Dutch Long and Sharon Lee Long.
Indiana Funeral Care is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
