Keith “COOP” Cooper, 62 of Indianapolis, Indiana lost his long battle with cancer on Friday November 18, 2022 at Allison Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on September 7, 1960 at St. Francis hospital Indiana to John & Wanda Cooper.
He is preceded in death by his father John D. Cooper, nephew Kelly Kuhns, grandparents Homer and Claire Cooper and Ralph and Emma Hancock; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Keith is survived by his mother Wanda Cooper, sisters Karen Cooper, Kathy Cooper Kuhns and Kim Cooper Lawson, brother-in-law Tom Lawson, nephew John Kuhns, niece Michelle Kuhns and nephew J.T. Lawson.
Never married he enjoyed a long relationship with his partner and friend Gina sharing a home and the love of family with her children Stephen, James and Katya.
Keith followed in his father’s footsteps working in the construction industry as a Master Plasterer, drywaller and stucco contractor; considered by most a true Artisan in his industry. He worked restoration projects on some of Indianapolis's oldest Mansions.
He loved his family and friends. He had a passion for good food, football and fishing. His favorite times were spent gathering with friends sharing food and drink. He lived close to the White River where he enjoyed spending much of his time with his many friends and their families. He was a competitive arm wrestler winning many trophies.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude & appreciation to his many friends who came to visit, called and stood by him and added to his quality of life during his long stay at Allison Pointe.
A Memorial Service is planned for April 14th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. A Buffet dinner to follow for all friends and family at the conclusion of the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Keith’s honor to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
