Kay (Catherine) Ellen (Ford) Baugh of Franklin, IN and Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of North Vernon, IN passed away on May 21, 2020 in Greenwood Franciscan Hospice House. She was born May 24, 1950 in Indianapolis, IN to Robert H. and Clara (Hofstetter) Ford. She married Dan (Danny) R. Baugh on January 20, 1973 and he survives.
Kay was an elementary teacher for over 30 years with most of her teaching career being in the Jennings County School system. She attended Purdue University and DePauw University.
Kay’s joys of her life were her family, her many friends, cooking and travel. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of North Vernon where she gave the children’s sermon for many years and sang in the church choir.
Kay was preceded in death by her father Robert. H. Ford of Indianapolis. Survivors to cherish her memory are her mother, Clara Ford, her brothers Daniel Ford of Indianapolis and David Ford of Salem, Virginia; her two sons, Darren (Debra) of Greenwood, Corey of Elizabethtown and her five grandchildren, Lauren of Indianapolis, Kate of Elizabethtown, Ethan, Alexander and Anna of Greenwood.
Graveside services will be at 4pm on Tuesday, May 26 at the Vernon Cemetery and will be conducted by Rev. James Gentry and Rev. Marvin Sweet. Please be respectful of others with social distancing and wearing face masks.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Kay and Dan Baugh Scholarship Fund at the Jennings County Community Foundation, St. Jude Hospital, or the First United Methodist Church of North Vernon, IN.
