Kay D. Boardman Grenda entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on December 9th, 2020 while at IU Tipton Hospital at the age of 85.
Kay was born October 7, 1935 in Anderson, IN to father Conrad Boardman and mother LaVaughn Boardman who preceded her in death. She grew up in a small family unit with one brother Raybourn Boardman who also preceded her in death. Kay graduated from Anderson High School and attended Stevens University for one year. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in education and became an art teacher in the public schools. In 1970 she moved into the role as a Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor and ended her career after a stroke.
Throughout her life, Kay was active in the Republican Party and strongly supported Conservatives. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was skilled at completing crossword puzzles and researching her family's genealogy. While living in Anderson she was a member of Central Christian Church and loved singing in the choir. Kay loved Jesus Christ and enjoyed sharing her faith with others.
Kay or “ Grandma Kay” as her grandchildren called her, spent her last years living at Wellbrooke of Westfield in room 208. She enjoyed her time and care at Wellbrooke.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Kyle Skaggs (Dan), grandchildren Brad, Kurt (Corinne), Kayla Skaggs, and great-grandson William; and her son, Greg Grenda (Nancy), grandchildren Lucy, Hank, Calvin, Elly, and Mary Grenda.
Visitation will be on December 15th, 2020 from 3:00-4:00 with services starting at 4:15 at Indiana Funeral Care 8147 Allisonville Rd Indianapolis, IN 46250

Graveside service will be at 9:30am on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery, 200 College Drive, Anderson, IN 46012.
