Katrina "Katie" Bachman

February 16, 1991 — November 8, 2020

On November 8th, Katie passed away at the age of 29 as a result of multiple health complications. Katie was a vibrant young woman, who was filled with joy and laughter. She was beautiful, expressive, loving and talented. She had a pure and genuine heart, never holding a grudge, always willing to forgive. Katie loved people. She especially loved the elderly and the very young, with whom she found great joy. When she spoke about specific people in her life it was usually associated with a fun time or story that she would punctuate with laughter. She adored her family and friends above all, and especially her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

What many people don’t know about Katie was her compassion for those less fortunate. She was known for taking homeless people into the grocery store to buy them what they need, or telling her mom and dad to turn the car around to bring someone on the street a sandwich. She was also a good worker, always punctual for work, and took her work responsibilities very seriously. She had several talents and hobbies, including crafts, cooking, fishing and dancing. She never cared much about material things and was content with what she had, because enjoying life and relationships meant so much more to her.

She clung to her faith in Jesus Christ. It is because of her faith that we find comfort in knowing that she has eternal life. In addition to her boyfriend Bryan Abramson and their two dogs, Katie leaves behind her large, blended family. Her dad, Bill Bachman and stepmom Nancy; her mom, Chris and stepdad Blane McMichen. Brother Ross (Kagan) and their children Lucy, Maddie and Teddy. Brothers; Tommy McMichen and Tim Bachman. Sisters; Julie McMichen, Ashley (Sean) Watson and their son Crosby, and youngest sister Evelyn Doughty.

There will be an open receiving time beginning at 2:00 PM on November 22nd, followed by a 4:00PM memorial service at Lifepointe Church, located at 3233 West 166th Street, Westfield, Indiana.
Katie will be laid to rest at the Union Lutheran Cemetery in Zionsville at a private burial later this month.
