Kathy Shoemaker, dedicated mother, sister, aunt, and friend left this world suddenly on December 29, 2021, at age 67.
Born in Noblesville, Indiana to Evelyn and Glen Thomas, Sr. on April 22, 1954, Kathy’s tenacious spirit was evident right away—as was necessary as the 3rd child in their sibling group of 10.
Kathy went on to pursue her passion of cosmetology and enter the world of motherhood with the birth of her daughter, Leighanna. She had a caring and giving heart, was an avid Coca-Cola collector, and could always be found on the dance floor, with country music playing if she had her choice. In recent years, you could often find her hanging out in her favorite chair with her favorite companion: little yorkie, Alfie
Her faith became an integral part of her life after dedicating her life to Christ in 2018, thanks to her dear friend Mettie Burns.
She is preceded in death by her mother Evelyn Thomas, her father Glen Thomas, sisters Glenda (Thomas) Watkins and Patty Thomas, her brother Robert Thomas, and her niece Lovey Kemp.
In addition to her daughter Leighanna and her dog Alfie, she is survived by her brothers Glen Thomas Jr., Terry Thomas, Tom Thomas, and James Thomas, and her sisters Tammy Kinerman and Becky Vincent. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Kathy’s life, we will be joining together on January 15, 2022, there will be a visitation from 11:00am-12:30pm and a memorial service at 12:30pm, at Freedom Church (1364 Christian Avenue, Noblesville, IN 46060).
