Kathleen M. Paras

Kathleen M. Paras (Picchietti) passed peacefully on February 3, 2021, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kathleen was born on December 12, 1926, to Attilio and Olga (Boilini) Picchietti in North Judson, Indiana, a town she lived in and cherished for 89 years. After graduating from North Judson High School, she spent several years in South Bend, Indiana attending South Bend College of Commerce and St. Mary’s College.

She married Gerald Parascandolo in 1948 and raised a family of four children. Kathleen embraced the role of mother and grandmother with sincerity and love. Combined with her prodigious amount of letter writing, boundless energy, positive outlook and passion for living, she devoted her life to her family.

As a lifelong resident of North Judson, she was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, a substitute teacher at North Judson-San Pierre schools for 25 years and a loyal patron and benefactor of the North Judson-Wayne Township Library.

Kathleen is survived by her children: Brian (Judy) Paras, Carol (David) Swihart, Kathy Paras, and Mark (Lola) Paras, nine grandchildren: Stephen Paras, Allison Paras, Nicholas Swihart, Ian Swihart, Patrick Swihart, Alec Seybold, Drew Seybold, Lauren Paras Hagan, Morgan Paras and eight great-grandchildren: Lucian, Tessa, Vivian and Devon Swihart, Emerson and Olivia Swihart, Ellie Seybold and Lily Hagan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Picchetti and her husband, Jerry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church in Indianapolis, on Friday, February 12th. Private interment at St. Jacob Catholic Cemetery, in North Judson, on Saturday, February 13th.

Memorial donations may be made to the North Judson-Wayne Township Library or the Marquette Foundation.
