Karen Kay Sprong, 74, of Greenwood passed away on April 12, 2022. Karen was born to the late Leslie and Delores Kord on November 24, 1947, in, Beech Grove, Indiana.
Karen was a 1966 graduate of Emmerich Manual High School. She had worked briefly as a carhop at the Tee Pee Restaurant and was employed for several years at Shelby Federal Bank in Fountain Square. Later she married Myron R. Sprong and raised four children over the course of 53 years. Karen loved a good mystery and was an avid reader of both mystery and horror novels. She was a lifelong fan of the CBS Daytime lineup, and in addition many popular TV shows throughout the decades. Her absence will be felt for many years to come.
Karen is survived by her four sons, Joseph A., Daniel A. (Shawna), William R., and Jonathon T. (Aimee); grandchildren, Katherine, and Joyce Ann Kay Sprong.
Karen was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
