Karen Jean Weessies

On Sunday, December 20, 2020, Karen Weessies, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 69 in Carmel, IN.
Karen was born on May 15, 1951 in Kalamazoo, MI to Albin and Mary Gotautas. She educated children in the joys of music for 25 years in the Birmingham, MI school district. On June 27, 1981, she married Thomas Jan Weessies. They raised two children, Daniel and Stephanie.
Karen had an extraordinary passion for music and organizing. She combined these talents to successfully run the county choir, Oakland Singers, for 12 years. She was known for her spitfire wit, her generosity, and her kind, gentle spirit.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Albin, and her mother, Mary. She is survived by her husband Tom, her two children, Dan and Stephanie, her daughter-in-law Kelly, and her three grandchildren Amelia, Cora and Nash.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 at Indiana Funeral Care at 11 o’clock a.m. Visitation will be held the two hours prior and a graveside service will be directly after at Carmel Cemetary (951, 46032 N. Rangeline Rd. Carmel, IN 46032).
In remembrance of Karen's life the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Organ fund at Noblesville First United Methodist Church, Noblesville, IN.
