Karen E. Hilt, 81, passed away November 9, 2021 at University Hospital in Indianapolis after a short illness.
She attended Monitor High School until it consolidated with Buck Creek to form East Tipp High School. She graduated in 1959 from East Tipp High School.
Karen attended Logansport Beauty Academy and was a licensed cosmetologist. She also attended Smiles Unlimited Clown College with her daughter, Rita.
She married Roger A. Hilt in 1960 and had two daughters. She was the secretary at East Tipp Middle School until 1976 when she began managing the family poultry farm. Karen went to work at Purdue University in 1990. She worked as a purchasing agent in the College of Veterinary Medicine and in Frehafer Hall for multiple departments. She retired from Purdue University in 2007.
She is survived by her husband, daughters and two grandsons of Lafayette, IN.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date.
