Judy A Tobin

January 6, 1950 — June 20, 2024

Greensburg

Judy Ann Blanford Tobin, 74, of Greensburg, Indiana gained her angel wings June 20, 2024, at Morning Breeze Nursing home where she had resided 2 short months. Born on January 6, 1950 at Columbus, Indiana, Judy was the daughter of Charles Sidney (Sid) and Dorothy Mae (Dot) Olmstead Blanford. Judy graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1968. She went on to receive her Cosmetology License in 1971. Judy married Tom N. Tobin on January 4, 1984, and was married for 22 years as he preceded her death in 2006. Judy was a member of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Columbus, Indiana and the Catholic Rose of Lima in Franklin, Indiana.

Judy worked as a beautician for many years early in her career and worked alongside Tom once they married. Judy retired from the Horseshoe Indianapolis Shelbyville Casino in 2019 after 13 years. Judy resided at Crown Pointe Assisted Living for 2 years prior to her short stay at the nursing home. Judy loved playing bingo with her friends Yvonne and Caroline and enjoyed the Bingo auctions even more. Judy had a heart of gold and loved being a listening ear to anyone that needed to talk.

Judy was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandma, nana, great grandma in her family. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family whenever she could. She was an avid vanilla coffee lover if she was in town she had to stop and get a coffee. Judy was fun and full of life. She loved going on road trips to her favorite place, the Dairy Cottage in Brookville for chicken, JoJo's and a banana shake with Patrick and Lori. Judy was the older sister to Linda and Brenda, whom she talked to every single day. Linda would call at 6:15pm every day before "Nora" comes on and Brenda would call at 8pm after Jeopardy was over. Her sisters love her dearly and are already missing those evening phone calls with her to chit chat. Judy always looked forward to visits from Tim and Linda they always brought her goodies, but her favorite was Tim's homemade cinnamon rolls that she talked about all the time and yes they were that good. Judy had a special bond with her niece D.D who was her vacation buddy to Tennessee every year to see Brenda. The fun they had together was endless. Judy loved spending time in Tennessee with Brenda and Jerry, and Jerry with his endless jokes never short of laughter. Judy enjoyed talking with Jarrod when he wasn't traveling, and she almost took him up on a job offer. She always looked forward to her mani/pedi dates with Ava and Isla when she was visiting. If you ever talked to Judy, you probably heard the names Tyler and Trisha, her two grandchildren, her pride and joy she would say. Tyler always called her Grandma Judy and could do no wrong in her eyes. She loved talking to Tyler and Mindy and listening to stories about the boys. Her eyes always lit up when she was talking about her great grandsons Parker and Charlie. She was always checking for new family and sports post on social media, to talk and brag about with her friends. Trisha was her partner in crime and best friend. Trisha called her Nana and she would always say yes to those late night Taco Bell runs anything for her Trisha. Judy was much older than her brother Tony but that didn't matter, she kept a wooden pencil he made in elementary her entire life and moved it from state to state as she thought he might want it one day for memories. Judy loved playing games, especially with Chuck her oldest son, he always called to check on her but she didn't always answer making him wonder what was going on. Despite her being gone we have our memories of our mom, sister, aunt, grandma, nana and great grandma and wow are they some good memories as Judy always made things fun.
