Joy Delores Zigler

Joy Dolores (Mikiska) Zigler, age 92, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. She was born October 23, 1929 in Evansville, Indiana to Georgia E. (Morris) Mikiska, and Charles W. Mikiska. She was married to Robert L. Zigler on May 19th, 1950, in Vincennes, Indiana.

Joy was a woman of faith who was also deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She wore her namesake well as she truly enjoyed being with her cats, glad to care for the flowers in her yard, and delighted in sharing warm conversations with family and friends on her front porch. Joy’s faith motivated her to extend generosity to her family and hospitality to others around her.

She worked for RCA and Regency Electronics.

Joy is survived by her children, David (Vivian) Zigler, Elizabeth (Kenny) Lunsford, Anna Wilson, her 7 grandchildren, her several great grandchildren, and her brother, Jack Mikiska of Vincennes, IN. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Zigler, and by her parents Georgia Morris Mikiska and Charles W Mikiska.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 1:30pm at Indiana Funeral Care - 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250. A memorial service will begin at 2:30pm with Rev. David Zigler officiating.
