Josephine “Josie” Ritter (Yzaguirre)

71, entered eternal life on January 14th, 2022 at home in Greenfield, Indiana. She was born on October 15th, 1950 in Hamlin, Texas but she grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City which were her adopted homes most of her life. She graduated from high school in 1968 from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City. She was a secretary at the Oklahoma City Public Schools school board until she retired, where she had many friends and co-workers.
Josie enjoyed crocheting, books, her family, and dancing to the oldies! Her nickname was Fina by everyone close to her. She moved to Indiana to be close to her immediate family in 2014. She was a devout Baptist from her earlier years and found comfort in reading the Bible. One thing she adored, which was well known, was her love for Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jose (Joe) Yzaguirre and Maria Yzaguirre (Ortiz), husband Wayne Ritter, infant children Lisa Ritter and baby boy Ritter, as well as sister Judy Martin, brother Joe Yzaguirre, uncle Lupe Ortiz, and nephews Manuel Yzaguirre & Jason Yzaguirre. She is survived by her daughters, Kelli Ritter and Kari Tucker (husband Clint) as well as grandchildren, Preston, Paige, Purity, Paisley, Piper, Charles Jr., and Alexis. She loved her siblings dearly and cherished their memories together. Her surviving siblings are Jesse Yzaguirre (wife Elizabeth) of OKC, Jim Yzaguirre of OKC, Janet Yzaguirre of OKC, and Jackie Williams (husband Matt) of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews including Sandy, Sabrina, James, Angelica, Amanda, Michael, Nicole, Jose, Jonathan, Lacey, Ashley, and Bailee.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Heather, Tammy, Shauna, and Trish for their care and love. By their actions, we know there are angels among us. Services are January 27th at the Chapel of Indiana Funeral Care on Allisonville Road, with visitation at 10am and ceremony to begin at 12pm. Burial will be at Lawndale in Ridgeville, Indiana.
