Joseph David Ringen, 86, of Indianapolis passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022.
He was born on Tuesday, August 20, 1935, to the late George and Sally (Smith) Ringen in Indiana.
Joseph attended and graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1954. Two years later he went to work for GM Truck and Bus and retired in 1992 after 36 years of service. He was a member of Capital City Baptist Church in Indianapolis for over 30 years.
Joseph loved to work in his yard, and it showed. He kept it well-manicured. He was an amateur CB Radio operator and had his own large tower. His CB name was Flattop. He talked with others all over the country and others out of the country. He made many friends over the years with his CB Radio. Joseph was also an avid bowler; he was on many leagues over the years and won many trophies.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Noretta Ringen whom he married on December 9, 1955; children, Renae Thorne and her husband Tim, Debra Fields and her husband Joe, David Ringen, Joe Ringen; grandchildren, Holli, Carrie, and Chris, Lauren, Mackenzie and Celina; and six great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George, and Sally Ringen.
Burial is private for family only.
