Joseph A Averill

Joseph A. Averill, age 73, passed away on Friday, December 30th, 2022.

Joe was born in El Paso, Texas, to the late Jack and Florence Averill. He’s preceded in death by his wife Patricia Averill, and his granddaughter Amanda Ayers.

Joe is a veteran of the Vietnam War and served honorably in the U.S. Army for 22 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. Joe's military career was focused in satellite and microwave communications. After retiring from military service, Joe continued to work in the communications field, most recently at AT&T. In his spare time, Joe loved to watch movies and listened to his music.

Joe is survived by his brother, Jack Averill, Jr., his children, Stephen Durham, ( Sandy ) Joey Durham ( Erika ) and Debbie Ayers, his grandchildren, Olivia Durham, Breanna Collins ( Brandon ) Justin Fair ( Austin ) Emily Durham and 4 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, in Indianapolis, IN, on January 21st at 1pm.
