Jon-Derek Wilson Brogden

Jon-Derek Brogden, 40, passed away on April 17, 2025, in Greenwood, Indianapolis, Indiana. Born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 12, 1984, Jon-Derek was raised in Charlotte, Tennessee, and was a proud graduate of the first class of Creek Wood High School.

He is survived by his loving partner, Jade Dearborn, and her family; his parents, Lisa Triolo and Jon Brogden; and his siblings: Maya Spann (Eric), Nicholas Brogden (Caroline), Ethan Brogden, Michelle Whittinghill (Phillip), and Jeffrey Triolo (Karen). He also leaves behind his beloved grandmother, Lola Ada (Wayne); his cherished niece and nephews, Blakelyn, Maddox, Kingston, and Jaxon Brogden; his aunt Lynn McDonald, cousins Paige and Matthew; cousin Craig Cohea (Rebecca); uncle Rich and aunt Marla White and their family; and many other dear aunts, uncles, and cousins who held a special place in his heart. Jon-Derek was surrounded in life by an extraordinary circle of extended family and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Wayne Jones and Dorothy Byrd Jones Carneal; Ollie W. and Mary Brogden; his beloved stepfather, Mike Triolo; and his aunt, Lori Jones Cohea.

Jon-Derek had a profound love for the outdoors and found peace on the family farm, where he spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and enjoying the open skies. A gifted chef, he studied culinary arts at Sullivan University and found purpose in crafting meals that brought people together, especially his ceviche. Known for his warmth, generosity, and welcoming spirit, Jon-Derek was a friend to all, embracing everyone regardless of their path in life.

In his final act of generosity, Jon-Derek became a hero through organ donation, giving the gift of life to others in need.

He also leaves behind his special companion, Kush the Kitty.

Jon-Derek’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave and the joy he brought to those around him will live on.
