Indianapolis

Kay McKinney, age 81, passed away on Saturday, July 27, in Indianapolis. She was an Army Brat born to John and Martha Yount in Ft. Benning, GA in 1942. Her childhood was spent traveling the southern states while her father attended military schools. When he was overseas, the family returned to Ohio to live with her grandparents. She created the company, Accurate Typing Service, in which she would transcribe tapes for attorneys, courts, private investigators and insurance companies.

She was an avid traveler and visited places such as Japan, Greece, Ireland and Israel. In her spare time she loved working in her garden and going to yard sales in search of hidden treasures. She was a devout Christian and was an active member of Lawrence United Methodist Church for many decades.

Yount (Judith), sister Linda (Mike) Hoyt, Nephew Jonathan (Laura) Yount and niece Jacqueline (Chris) Farrell, great-nieces and great-nephews, 4 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death in 2015 by her husband, Rev. James McKinney.

Visitation will be at Lawrence United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 17 starting at 11am with a memorial service at 12pm.
