John Stanton

John (Jack) Stanton, 72, of Fishers Indiana, passed away on September 11, 2023.

He was born on February 6, 1951 in Chicago, IL of John and LaVerne(Lenahan) Stanton.

Jack will be remembered for his loves: Faith, Family, Friends and kids playing sports.

His love of God and following the teachings of Jesus Christ stand out for anyone who met him.

Jack and Carol were married for 49 years—he looked forward to 50 years next summer, but God had other plans. They have 2 children, Megan and Michael. Megan is married to Vu Nguyen and they have 2 children, Maeve and James. To know Jack and Carol is to know Michael. Michael will always be Jack’s “best buddy.”

Jack was incredibly devoted to his friends. He walked with so many through the challenges in their lives. There was no more loyal friend.

Jack was an ambassador for kids. He loved nothing better than watching kids play sports-

especially volleyball and football. He didn’t need to know any of the kids - although he was soon on a first name basis with many of them. He was “Big Jack.” He felt support for any/all kids was important and necessary to help them make good decisions. If you believe it takes a village to raise kids, you could count on Jack to be part of that village. 

He loved the White Sox, IU basketball, Notre Dame football, and whatever game was on TV.

 There’s a big hole where he used to be. 

Jack is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Megan (Vu) Nguyen, son Michael;

sister Mari Stanton, brother David (Phyllis) Stanton, sister Kelly(Tony) Perry; grandchildren Maeve and James Nguyen.
