John R. Bodenhamer

John Richard Bodenhamer was born in Kirksville, Missouri on Nov 13, 1924. and died July 3, 2021, at the age of 96. He was the son of Dr. Wm E. Bodenhamer and Louise Harding Bodenhamer.

John attended John Strange School and graduated from Broadripple high school before joining the U.S. Marine Corp. in Dec. of 1943. He served in the Marines during World War II overseas from May 1944 until June 1946 when he received an Honorable discharge. Later in life he started his own business as a manufacturer’s representative. He enjoyed golfing, racing, fishing, and artistry.

He is survived by his wife Betty Bolenhamer and daughter Tammy Foster.

Funeral Service will be at 11am on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Geist Christian Church, 8550 Mud Creek Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46256. Visitation starts at 10am. Entombment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital and Tunnels to Towers.
