John Joseph Kelliher

John Joseph "Jay" Kelliher, 61, of Indianapolis passed away on July 1, 2020. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 20, 1958 to John and Maureen Kelliher. John grew up in Indianapolis where he graduated from North Central High School participating in football, wrestling, and baseball. He attended Indiana University where he studied computer science and was a proud member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity where he developed many friendships and particularly enjoyed intramural sports. He was employed in the information technology industry for nearly four decades. John specialized in the IBM mainframe computer environment as a systems programmer, system performance analyst and capacity planner working in Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Minneapolis,Indianapolis and Stockholm, Sweden. He worked for many Fortune 500 companies in the financial, insurance, retail and telecommunication industries. John specialized in developing custom software applications which helped clients save money by maximizing system performance and deferring expensive system upgrades. John was a generous man and a loyal friend. He loved sports, his family and his friends. John was preceded in death by his parents John and Maureen and is survived by his sister Patty (John) Fitzgerald and his brother James (Pamela) Kelliher. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. John will be interred in Springfield, Massachusetts near his Mother and Father. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
