John Edward (Lamar) Peterson

April 26, 2020 — June 22, 2020

John Edward (Lamar) Peterson was born April 26, 1981. He was 6lbs. 6ozs, a day after my birthday that year, my twin. Imagine (2)Taurus the Bulls personalities living in the same household. I was really the stubborn one though. He was so funny at times, always keep you laughing. He was a gift ߎ from God.

Some people curse God for taking their loved ones; grandparents, parents, their siblings & especially their children because it was always believed that the parents goes before their kids no matter what, but I say " Praise The Lord"& "Thank You Jesus" for taking such good ߑ care ❤ of my family. They're suffering no more, no more worrying & no more pain.

Growing up he was the perfect brother taking his siblings butt whippings in which I didn't know until they were grown and by the family, they called him "Old Man" because he was wise for his age. He was book smart, an high honor roll student, athletic (wrestling) and loved basketball, a music lover & dreams of being a fashion designer, running his own record label & street smarts before and after he got sick.

Lamar, my son lived his life the way he wanted to live on his own terms, no matter what the doctors & psychiatrist said and the medicine he took for schizophrenia and later bi-polar he didn't let it take his spirit from day one for 20 years. Life's too short. He was known to some as Shaky. He traveled looking for his ever-after and experienced things differently than you & I would have. He was a force to be reckoned with. He was loved by everyone. He came in contact with. He literally would give the shirt off his back, very generous and had manners. Oh He could & would make you mad enough to kick his butt but after awhile, but not for long. He was known by a lot of people some good, some bad. Some of those people were the police, some judges, prosecutors & probation officers. He could talk his way out of a lot of stuff, be fussing & cussing at times. They treated him with dignity alright, they gave the help he needed; free room & board by just putting him in jail for some days or months and then transporting him to a Mental health facility for treatment and medicines.

He loved his family, always checking in on us, not worrying too much about himself only to see us every now & then and occasionally for some change and every time asking for his cousins numbers Rosanna, Sonny & a few others cousins and a couple of his Aunties, Gwen's & Rosemary's number.

He will truly be missed. We had a special bond. He made me smile as his sister Kim too.ߘƒOccasionally he told me some of his unbelievable dreams, some of God & Demons sometimes right after he wakes up. The only dream that really stood out was the one of him sitting on the right side of God and that was a while ago after he first got sick. An bright orange & yellow butterfly was in my car flickering & fluttering around Kim and she was swatting and shewing it out of the car, it went on my seat headrest and then out the window as we were on our way to his dad's place to hear the news of his passing. We love you Lamar. He heard that every time we all talked at the end of every phone call. Although I had to Let Go & Let God I never gave up on him. I cry happy tears. The Butterfly is symbolic for us in the remembrance of his presence after life.

He was survived by mom, Loretta Peterson, dad, John E Davis Sr., brothers Leroy Owens Jr., John E. Davis Jr., Carmine Davis, sisters Kimberlee E. Davis, Sharita Prysock. He had a host of Aunts & Uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews & friends.
Preceding him in death was all his Grandparents: Lawrence & Ethel Lee Peterson, John Marie Davis & Olivia Huss.
