John Wayne Dalton, 67, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 19, holding hands with his wife, Leslie. John was born March 29, 1957, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Iva and Edgar Dalton and brother to eight other siblings. John graduated from Benton Central High School in 1975, then went on to Indiana State.
John married Leslie [Lord] Dalton on April 9, 1983. The two have been married for 41 glorious years and built a beautiful life together. His family, including his daughters and grandchildren, were the center of his world. He adored starting every conversation with stories of them. As a husband, father and a Poppy, he was always there, cheering on a career change, a new adventure, or the first basket in game.
When not spending time with his family, John loved being on the golf course with his buds, many of whom he met through his church. His yearly goal was to spend a day on the course every month of the year. This year, John finally visited his happy place, Lambeau Field. He loved cheering on his Green Bay Packers, his Cubs, and his Pacers.
Those who think the world of John will say his quiet humor and his fierce love will live on in our memories and stories.
Remaining to cherish John’s memory are his wife, Leslie; children, Stephanie, Abby Teel (Curtis) Katie Dalton (Kayla); grandchildren, Hadley, KJ, Berkley, Dalton, Lucy, and Warren. He is also survived by four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 2-4pm at Crosspoint Church 13678 Silverstone Dr, Fishers, IN 46037. Celebration of Life will be held from 4-5pm.
