John William (Bill) Belshaw Jr., 90, of Westfield passed away peacefully Thursday, (November 3, 2022). Born in Cleveland, Ohio November 6, 1931, to John and Irene Belshaw. John graduated from Port Clinton High School, where he was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998. He was one of the first athletes to letter in all four major sports. An exceptional athlete, John attended and played basketball at Kent State University and tried out for the Cleveland Indians Baseball Team. John was also an avid golfer. He was a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Carmel, Indiana. He loved being part of the Sertoma Club. John was a member of the Kokomo Country Club and Fostoria Country Club. He was a Sales Executive for Continental Steel and Bekaert Steel until his retirement. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Lorensen of Port Clinton, Ohio. They were married for 71 years. John was preceded in death by his parents, brother John (Bud) Belshaw (Lonna), and daughter Pam Brown (Melvin);  John is survived by his wife Betty (Westfield, IN), son John (Venice, FLA), daughter Nan Scimia (Joseph, Westfield, IN), son in law Mel Brown (Pam, Findlay, Ohio);   5 grandchildren, Amy Stultz (Dave, Fostoria, Ohio), Anne Staley (Lewis Center, Ohio),  Jenny Brown (Stacy Barry, Findlay, Ohio), Matt Brown (Karli, Findlay, Ohio), Allyssa Stevens (Zachary, Dallas, TX);  9 great grandchildren, Alex, Abby and Dylan Stultz, Amelia Staley, Adalyn and Cora Brown, Carter and Rylie Stevens, Wyatt Barry; 1 great great grandchild, Audra Stultz. A private, family service will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church officiated by the Reverend Cara Spaccarelli.
