Jimmy Ridner, 62, of Mooresville passed away March 16, 2024 in the comforts of his home with his wife by his side. He was born September 8, 1961 in Corbin, KY.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Renee Ridner; sons, Ryan Ridner of Indianapolis and Andrew (Megan) Ridner of Lexington, KY; and 4 grandchildren, Jade Ridner, Nolan Ridner, Evelyn Ridner and Thea Ridner.
Jimmy and Renee were married April 26, 1980 and were soon to celebrate their 44th wedding anniversary. He was a long-term resident of Mooresville, recognized as the man of few words, who was loved by everyone he met. Jimmy looked forward to attending every little league baseball game and/or coaching his son's teams. He additionally loved watching Ryan and Andrew play high school football. He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening and watching his plants grow. Jimmy had a knack for attracting backyard wildlife and providing food and shelter despite the species and aftermath, including his "stinky kitty" (skunk). There was never an empty bird feeder or a hummingbird that didn't know him. As best friends, Jimmy and Renee would enjoy evenings on the deck watching the sunsets and listening to wind chimes together. He enjoyed traveling with Renee including a trip to Mexico on a whale watching excursion. Renee was grateful he could not fit a whale on the plane for a home in the backyard pool. He was a master problem solver and could find a solution for any project from electronics to building things. His last 3 years working at Real Power was his dream job. He loved his work, and created his legacy of WWJD, for "What Would Jimmy Do?" He cherished his grandchildren and teaching them about nature and the art of gardening, followed by an afternoon swim.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Starlin and Ruby Ridner of Camby, IN and is survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Jimmy will be missed dearly by his wife/best friend and all that knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 11 am - 1 pm at First Christian Church of Mooresville, 525 N. Indiana St., Mooresville, with a funeral service at 1 pm. Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, IN.
