Jessica Leigh Presler

Jessica “JP” Leigh Presler passed away on August 12, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 38.  She had the most beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Jessica lived her life full blast.  Every day was a new adventure.  She didn’t care about getting dirty or jumping in the snow in regular clothes.  Fun came first! She didn’t think it of herself, but many of the kids in the family looked up to her and thought she was pretty cool. She was known for her creativity and her ability to relate to her children and their interests.  She shared many conversations with her son about trains, books, collectibles and Pokemon cards. She loved having tea parties with her daughter and collecting China for them.  They also loved to paint together.  She was a terrible baker but she did try her best.   She was an artist, loved to paint and draw and had the most beautiful way of taking something old and making it new and interesting again.  She didn’t know a stranger and was quick to think of others and give them anything she had or found.  She was a mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. 

Jessica will be remembered by her children, Griffin and Pantera; significant other Daniel Cosner; her mother Cynthia Presler, father Alan Presler and stepfather Cecil Cross; her sisters, Somar Preussner [Sean Cummins], Cynthia [Michael] Pearman, Jennifer [Josh] Markoff, Sasha Smallsreed and brother Adam Augustine; her paternal grandparent Charley Bonard and great grandparent Donna Sweeney; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind several longtime friends that have become part of her family.

Jessica is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Raymond Tatar and Maureen Edwards; paternal grandparent Hubert Presler; an aunt Christina Tatar, an uncle Raymond Tatar, 2 cousins Johnny Roach and Keith Hufford.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 1, 2023 from 4 PM – 7 PM at the Indianapolis Art Center, 820 East 67th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Celebration to include social time with food followed by a tribute and ending with a send off to the sea. In lieu of flowers please make donations in the links below.
