Jerry Shanklin

Jerry “Buck” Shanklin Jr., 71, of Indianapolis, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on September 10, 2020. Buck was born in Macon, Mississippi to Jerry and Beatrice Shanklin on October 12, 1948. He went to school in Macon, Mississippi. Buck love to cook, work on cars, go fishing, being in his garden, traveling, and mostly spending time with his family.

Buck is survived by his life-long companion Denise Bailey; children Cortez, Angela (Anthony), Darnell (Morgan), Terry (Rachel), David, and Racine; brothers Willet, Willie, Ernest (Belinda), Henry, and Jimmy (Evelyn), sisters Sadie, Corine (Leroy), Katherine (Johnny), and Lisa; grandchildren Saidah, Hanifa, Ranijah, Jabari, Jalen, Alina, and Jeremiah.

Buck is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Beatrice Shanklin, and his sister, Geraldine Turner.

Pallbearers will be Willet, Willie, Ernest, Henry, Jimmy, and Leroy.
