Jennie Carlson Oukada, 73, of Noblesville, passed away in the early morning hours on Tuesday September 1, 2020 at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital. She was born on May 1, 1947 to Harold “Swede” Carlson and Helen (Staggers) Carlson in Plainville, Kansas.
Jennie Graduated from Russell High School in Russell Kansas. She received her bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. She then went on to receive her master’s degree in education from Louisiana State University. She worked in education for her entire adult life, teaching a variety of different grades in Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, and Arizona. She was such a warm and welcoming woman that loved helping others. She retired from teaching and moved from Arizona back to Indiana to be around her grandchildren which she adored. She was an avid scrap booker, loved to try new recipes, and travel the world. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Noblesville. Most of all, Jennie loved her family and especially time with her grandchildren singing, sewing doing crafts, baking treats, and watching them play sports activities they loved.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel Oukada, Christopher Oukada (Shannon); grandchildren, Cooper, Chloe, and Camryn Oukada.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother, Walt Carlson in 2015.
A private family service is being held. We will be having a celebration of life service in the near future.
