On Friday July 17, Jeffery Livingston Axline, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 76, in the loving presence of his children and wife in his home in Sheridan, Indiana.
Jeff was born August 31, 1943 to Gordon and Lillian Axline in Indianapolis Indiana. He graduated from Shortridge High School and subsequently joined the United States Army where he proudly served from 1964 to 1967. Following his discharge from the Army, he was a loyal employee with St Vincent Hospital, where he worked for 17 years. He then retired and went on to work for Carmel Clay schools for an additional 10 years. Jeff married Peggy (Conaway) Axline in 1978 and together, they raised a daughter and a son.
Jeff never knew a stranger, and was a lover all things southwestern. He is survived by wife, Peggy; daughter, Amy Smith (Matt); son, Samuel (Angie); and grandchildren Justin, Jason, Ivy, Maddy, Piper, and Chase, as well as his sister, Cynthia Gwinn and his brother, Scott. In addition to his parents, his two brothers; Bennet and Jack preceeded him in death.
A celebration of his life will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Church Of God at 707 West 2nd Street in Sheridan, Indiana 46069, followed by his funeral. Burial will be at Little Eagle Creek Cemetery in Westfield, Indiana.
