Earl Jefferson Rexroat II

January 31, 1949 — March 19, 2025

Jeff Rexroat, 76, passed away on March 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 31, 1949, Jeff lived a life full of joy, adventure, and unwavering love for those closest to him.

A proud graduate of Edinburgh High School, Jeff excelled as the quarterback of the football team and as the pitcher for the baseball team. His natural leadership and competitive spirit carried over into his lifelong passion for sports-whether cheering for the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Hoosiers, and Chicago Cubs, or enjoying the excitement of betting on the ponies.

Jeff spent many years working in freight and transportation sales, dedicating much of his career to CW Transport and Miller Transfer and Rigging. Yet, beyond his work, Jeff's true passion was living life to the fullest. An avid golfer and longtime member of The Legends, he was well known for enjoying his regular foursome on the course, always with a cigar in hand and a ready smile. At home, he found solace and joy casting a line into the pond behind his house.

Music played a central role in Jeff's life. From Pablo Cruise, Steely Dan, America, The Mavericks, ELO, Boz Scaggs, and The Beatles, to his favorite, Jimmy Buffett-Jeff truly lived his life like a Jimmy Buffett song, embracing the spirit of fun, adventure, and a carefree rhythm. He also had a deep love for travel, recently discovering a new passion for New York City, while Key West, Florida, always held a special place in his heart.

Above all, Jeff will be remembered for his warm heart, kind soul, and the ever-present smile that lit up every room he entered. His greatest joy was sharing time with his family and lifelong friends.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Suzi, his beloved daughters, Angie Sutton (Danny) and Jenny Norris; his cherished grandchildren, Sam, Addie, Jacob, and Ryan; and his dear sister, Sharon Alvey (Tom), nephews Chris (Lindsey) Alvey and Ryan (Kim) Alvey. He was preceded in death by his daughter Alli Rexroat, also his parents Earl and Joan Rexroat. His presence brought happiness to so many, and his memory will continue to do the same.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and loved ones raise a glass, share a laugh, and enjoy a moment of music in his honor-just as he would have wanted.
