Jeanne M. Eakin

Jeanne Marie (Nelson) Eakin entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 13, 2022.

She was born in Akron, OH on June 11, 1930.  When she was 19, she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Eakin, and together they embarked on a journey that lasted nearly 67 years.  They dedicated themselves to raising their four sons, David (Jill), Timothy (Donna), Paul (Jen), and Mark (Laura).  They had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jeanne and Bill spent almost as many years sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with high school kids through Youth for Christ and in meetings in their home.

Jeanne was gifted in the fine arts. She created and shared her paintings and handicrafts, worked diligently on her illustrated journals, and decorated their four homes in which she delighted to practice hospitality—all to the glory of God. 

She was known for her capacity for friendship, her generous spirit, intellectual curiosity, humor, and fervor for God’s Word.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill and her eldest son, Dave.

Services will be private.  Donations can be made to Youth for Christ in lieu of flowers.
