J.E. Fluty

J.E. Fluty 85 years old went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Monday June 15, 2020. As J. E. was crossing over his daughters were at his side singing "I'll Fly Away".

He spent most of his life living in Indianapolis and at the time of his passing J.E. and the love of his life Gladys Fluty were residing at Brookdale Assisted Living in Carmel, IN.

J.E. Worked as a greens keeper most of his working career. His last greens keeper position was at Brendonwood Common in Indianapolis, IN

In J.E.'s earlier years he loved to play golf and go deer hunting but his favorite pass time was playing his guitar and singing. He was a huge Bluegrass Music lover and had a wonderful tenor voice. His favorite place to sing was in church and he had written many songs over the years. He also served as a deacon at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Indianapolis for many years. His last church home was Mt. Calvary Evangelistic Center in Indianapolis.

J. E. and his wife Gladys were married for 63 years. He Is survived by his wife Gladys (Whitney) Fluty and his two daughters Theresa (Fluty) Mulhern and Rita (Fluty) Gee and husband Ron of Indianapolis. Also, four grandchildren. Joshua Clements, Robbie Gee, Rodney Gee and Kyla Mapalad all of Indianapolis and four great grandchildren, Vanessa, Addison, J.J. and Ruby.

He was born on March 23, 1935 in Monroe, Kentucky to Milton and Sallie (Murphy) Fluty. J.E. Had three brothers, Lewis Fluty, Daniel Fluty, and Lecil Fluty, three sisters; Vernie Anderson, Shirley Riley and Jocie Poindexter. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Daniel Fluty and infant brother David Fluty.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living in Carmel, IN for their kindness love and care for both J.E. And Gladys especially, Stephanie and Darlene who J.E. affectionately called them both "Rose" in the "Speedway neighborhood." You were J.E.'s favorites. Also, thank you to the wonderful nursing staff at Community North Hospital for your care and special arrangements for us during the time of dad's passing.

J.E.'s Arrangements are for Monday June 22, 2020. Visitation for the public will be from 10:00 a.m. till Noon. Funeral will begin at 12:00 p.m. His final resting place is at Floral Park Cemetery located at 425 N Holt Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46222
