Janis Colleen Murphy

Janis Murphy, age 79, passed away on August 11, 2024.

Janis was born in Taylor County, KY to Otha Coy Murphy and Claudia Murphy.

Janis had 2 children, Barry Stafford (Jennifer), and Sherry Plant Nelson (David). She had 6 Grandchildren, Jamie, Jeremi, Jana, Jillian, Josh, and Jayden who survive her. She is also survived by her brothers, Keith (Cathy) Murphy and Dale (Debbie) Murphy. 

Janis was self employed for many years. She loved working and owned her own furniture store. Her hobbies were making crafts, traveling when she could, and of course, hitting the casino. She loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by Otha Coy Murphy (Father), Claudia Murphy (Mother) Sam Murphy (Brother), Gene Murphy (Brother), Roy Murphy (Brother), Jamie Plant (Granddaughter)

Janis was happily reunited with her mother in Heaven the day she earned her wings.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
