The family of Janice (Jan) Luurtsema, of Mooresville, Indiana sorrowfully announces her passing on Thursday, June 3 at the young age of 73. She passed peacefully after a brief illness.
Jan was born to Wayne and Ruby Moyer of Lewis, Indiana. After graduating from Coalmont High School, she went on to study at Indiana State University. Soon after, she moved to Mooresville, Indiana, and found employment in Indianapolis. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and for the last 24 years, she was a tax preparer at H&R Block. There, she made many friends and helped numerous people.
People, and cats, naturally cared for and trusted Jan. While she was an avid collector, she also enjoyed giving people things she thought they could use. She really cared about the little things. She will be greatly missed.
Jan is survived by her daughter, Tiffanie (Keith) Ellis of Greenwood; sister Joyce (David) Burcham of Clay City; brother Lanny (Glenda) Moyer of Jasonville; grandchildren Connor and Logan; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Leo Moyer.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 9 at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143 with visitation being held just prior, beginning at 11:00 am. Graveside services for the family will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City, Indiana at 3:00 pm.
