Jamie Andrew Hanover

September 16, 1959 — January 1, 2021

Jamie Andrew Hanover was born September 16, 1959. He Died January 1, 2021.

He is survived by his wife Sarah (Gumbiner) Hanover, son Adam and daughter Heather, as well as his sister Annie Hanover.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lois (Dunbar) Hanover, his brothers Henry (Hank) Hanover and Steven Hanover, and his sister Pamela (Hanover) Bridges.

Jamie was a loving husband and devoted father. Our family was what was most important to him at all times. He always showed a loving spirit and great generosity to all he met who were in need. There are so many wonderful stories of his helping those in need time and time again. He never sought praise or recognition. He always acted out of the kindness of his wonderful, pure heart.

Jamie was very skilled machinist, and there were few who could surpass his skills. He moved through the shop with the finesse of Mozart on the piano or Van Gogh on the Canvas. He was brilliant and diligent, never giving up and working so hard to create a new masterpiece. He designed and forged new ways to shape metal and to master flames. He deeply enjoyed mentoring and teaching younger people how to do what he did. He helped many people over the years learn to earn a good living from the skills he taught them.

To most he was known for his brilliance and honor: he never went back on his word and he always strove to do everything possible for others.

Over the past year, every morning became a new challenge. Just to rise from bed was extremely difficult. He paid a high painful price to keep going for our family. He never wanted to leave us alone,

He leaves a deep hole in our hearts. But where there is deep grief, there is also great love. He once told his wife, that everything he knew about love began and ended with her. That is way too much credit to bestow on one human – but he loved deeply and was willing to take on the world for those he loved. He had such a big heart of gold! A truly good person one could not help but love.

He is no longer suffering, and suffer he did: he would get up and go to work when most could not get off the couch. He was a medical phenomenon. But this time the obstacles were too high and his body and soul were tired of the fight. We are comforted knowing that he is now at peace and no longer suffering.
