James Wright

James Woodrow Wright, 75 of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on Friday December 23, 2022. Jim was born on January 27, 1947 to James Ellison Wright and Lucy Naomi (Johnson) Wright in Burkesville, Kentucky.

Jim graduated from Greenfield Central High school in 1965. He married Brenda Lee Hatcher on May 23, 1966. On June 6, 1966 he was drafted by the U.S. Army and went on to serve two years in the Vietnam War. Jim was a mechanic for many years and went on to work in maintenance for Eli LIlly Company where he eventually retired from. Jim loved working on and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoyed golfing, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. After retirement him and his wife spent all of their time traveling to many states across the U.S. He enjoyed his final years to the fullest.

Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda; three children, Amy (Scott) Pifer, Tim Wright, and Kristen (Charles) Kile; five grandchildren, Kara Eaks, Dylan Wright, James Roberts, Thomas Kile, and Mckinley Kile; four great-grandchildren, Jena, Tredan, Light, and Zephyr; his siblings; Ethel (Delbert) Parrish, David (Rae) Wright, Mike (Debbie) Wright, Richard Wright, Faye (Ron) Sides, Sharon (Bob) Hritsko, Becky (Larry) Stafford, Linda Johnson, Kevin Wright; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucy; his brother, Steven "PJ" Wright; and his grandson, Kyle Roberts.

Visitation is Wednesday, December 28, 2022, 3:00pm-5:00pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood, IN. Military honors will be performed following the visitation, at 5:00pm.
