James Mitchell

James Mitchell Sr., "Jim", passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2022. He was born on January 29, 1960 in Bedford, IN.

Jim was a jack of all trades. His working years were spent in the labor/construction industry and he was known to often help family and friends with odd jobs when needed.

Jim and Kayla met in 1981, marrying in 1983. Over their 40+ years together they shared love, laughs, and a beautiful family. He was a fun, proud, and loving Husband, Dad, and Pappy and we will miss him dearly. Jim loved the outdoors and fishing, cold beer and country music, and corny jokes. He was always down for a competitive game of dice or cards with loved ones.

His memory will live on in those that knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kayla Mitchell; his son, Levi Mitchell; his daughter, Courtney (Michael) Cheek; his Grandson, Nathan Mitchell and Nathans mother, Desiree Sadler; his Granddaughters, Magnolia and Willow Cheek; His Parents, Evan and Carolyn Mitchell; his sisters, Tammy (Mark) Springman and Tracy (Scott) Coyle.

He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, beloved friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Mitchell Jr.; his brother, Timothy Mitchell, and his four-legged companion, Daisy.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 2pm-4pm with the memorial service immediately to follow at 4pm.
