James Michael "Jim" Driscoll

James Michael “Jim” Driscoll, age 60, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at his home. He was born February 21, 1960, in Blue Island, IL, to James and Carol (Henricks) Driscoll. He was a 1978 graduate of Thornwood High School and attended Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville, MO., where he met Rhonda Jackson. They were married on April 23, 1983. He worked in the insurance industry until 2015. When he retired, he went to work for Menards, allowing him to further apply his knack for helping people by way of facilitating their DIY projects. Jim’s positive and exuberant approach to life made him a loving brother, devoted husband, patient father and doting papaw as he involved himself in school projects, cheering on his children and grandchildren in sports and ultimately volunteering to coach youth league football. He was always the life of the party, and when Jim walked in the room, the atmosphere changed. He took a genuine interest in everyone that he encountered and left them feeling valued, important and up-lifted. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family, wood working and watching sports of any kind. His, was a life well lived. He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol; his father, James; his brother-in-law, Brian Bodza. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda; two brothers, Keith (Amy) Driscoll, John Driscoll; a sister, Kathy Bodza; two children Kristyn Driscoll, Matt (Cara) Driscoll; three grandchildren, Logan, Titus and Liam along with many nieces and nephews. Family, friends and others whose lives Jim touched are invited to the visitation held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Pingleton officiating. In lieu of usual remembrances, direct memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
