James “Bud” H. Downs

On September 11, 2019, James “Bud” H. Downs, 92, passed away at home. James was born in Raywick, Kentucky on March 16, 1927. He served his country in WWII, on board a ship in the US Navy . He spent his 40 year working career employed by the New York Central Railroad . His passion was being involved with woodworking, restoring older furniture, and gardening .
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Margie Carlyle Downs; his first wife, Betty J. Gabbei Downs; 5 sons, Jack , Jim , Joseph , Jerome , Dennis; and his daughter, Trina Downs . He leaves behind a son, John (Peggy) Downs; daughters, Cathy (Mike) Maxwell and Brenda (Ken) Heatherly. James also leaves behind 5 sisters, Marietta, Catherine, Patty, Sharon, and Linda; one brother, Steve Downs; and 30 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Friends and Family are invited to Celebrate the Life of Bud on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Ballare Ballroom, 111 Medical Drive, Carmel, Indiana 46032.
