James Rodney Hughes

James Rodney Hughes, 82, of Noblesville, IN passed away January 22, 2024. He was born April 30, 1941 in Decatur, IL to Walter R. and Dorothy (Porter) Hughes. 

Jim met and married his first wife, Brenda K. Cobren, and had 4 children. He worked for American Electric Power from his mid 20's until he had a brain hemorrhage in 1999 and was deemed disabled. After the passing of his first wife in August of 1998, Jim met his second wife, Suzanne Underwood in January 1999 and were married 5 months later in June 1999. Together Jim and Suzie enjoyed buying and fixing up homes together, renovating 13 homes in 25 years! 

James was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda K. Cobren Hughes; sister, Rose (Curtis); and half sister, Patrticia (Collins) Daniels,

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Suzanne Hughes; children, Dan (Penny) Hughes, Shelley Smith, Jeff (Beth) Hughes, and Steve (Kelly) Hughes; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, with 2 more on the way; and brother, Walter (Linda) Hughes.
