James (Jim) Robert Bibb, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025. Born on October 12, 1940, in Monterey, Kentucky, Jim lived a life full of service, love, and dedication to his family, community, and country.
A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Jim served with distinction as a Corporal during the Vietnam War, earning the respect and admiration of those who served alongside him. His commitment to his country was a defining part of his character, and he carried the values of service, duty, and honor throughout his life.
Jim had a successful career that began with his work for the state of Kentucky, followed by his service in the Marine Corps. After his military service, he worked at Tom Wood Toyota before retiring. In his retirement years, Jim worked at Lowe's to stay busy. It was during his time at the state that he met his beloved wife, Sherrill Bibb, and the two shared a love story that lasted a lifetime. Together, they raised a family that brought Jim great joy and pride.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Sherrill Bibb; his son, Kristopher Bibb, and daughter-in-law, Leah Bibb; his daughter, Denise Haney, and son-in-law, Eric Haney; his sister, Lynda Towles, and brother-in-law, Don Towles; and his beloved grandchildren, Mitch Martin and wife Danielle, Andrew Martin and wife Kate, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren, Palmer Martin and Milo Martin. Jim will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family who were touched by his kindness and warmth.
Jim's legacy is one of service, love, and commitment. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and his contributions to his community.
A private family service will be held to honor Jim’s life and service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior. Jim’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, Jim. Your legacy of love, service, and dedication will never be forgotten.
