Jama Keesling, 91, passed away on April 4, 2024, in Brownsburg, IN. She was born on December 19, 1932 in Muncie, IN, to Burl Engle and Charlotte Engle.
Jama graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1950. She started her career at The Muncie Clinic. Jama was employed as the manager for years at the Elks Country Club in Yorktown and after purchased their own restaurant in Muncie. Jama went on to work for a party planning company out of Westfield, Indiana. Jama married Monte Keesling on June 3rd 1983 in Muncie. Jama was best known for being outside in the sun, gardening, crafts, and ceramics. She loved life, family and appreciated everyone in her world.
Jama is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard Addison Jr. and Burl Engle Jr.; son, Fred Shreves Jr. and David M. Shreves.
Jama is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Bruce) Berryman; son, Philip (Nita) Shreves; daughter, Melissa (Gary) Wilmoth; step daughter, Linda (Riley) Rees; step son, Gary (Kelly) Keesling, Doug (Cathy) Keesling, and Mitch (Madeline) Keesling; grandchildren, Jason Coffman, Shawn (Brooke) Coffman, Adam (Sarah) Tschuor, Aaron Tschuor, Michele (Rick) Selent, Jennifer Shreves, Kristopher Shreves, Christina Shreves and Amy Hand; 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank every caregiver from Crowne Point of Lebanon to Brownsburg Meadows memory care for all of their care and support.
Jama's wish was to be cremated and her final celebration of life will be held privately at a later date.
