Jacqueline Rochelle Collins was born to Orriette “Cookie” Butcher and James Collins June 23, 1967 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Jacqueline attended grammar school in Indianapolis. Her family moved to California and she became a “Cougar” at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, graduating in 1984. Jacqueline was baptized at an early age; she enjoyed attending church as her health permitted.
Jacqueline was united in marriage to Darryl Curtis Leach in 1990. To this union was born Darryl Curtis Leach, Jr. and Darren Corey Collins. Jackie, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was a strong and feisty matriarch who loved her family.
Jacqueline followed her dream of becoming a Cosmetologist; she worked over 30 years as a Barber and Beautician. She was a loving and caring person that was always willing to help others. Jacqueline was especially fond of her grandchildren.
On Saturday, July 24, 2021, Jacqueline fell asleep in death. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Orriette Butcher; father, James Collins; sister, Reginnia D. Harwell; great-grandmother, Georgia Cash; nephew, Joseph L. Stockdale Jr; cousins Rico L. Hawkins and Nickiea Hawkins.
Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memory: sons Darryl Curtis Leach, Jr. and Darren Corey Collins; grandson, Darren Corey Collins, Jr.; granddaughter, Sariyah Collins; step-sister, Casandra Little; great aunt and uncle Deloris Cash and Garrell Cash; aunt Mariecia J. Hawkins; uncles, Latelle L. Butcher; Lynn E. Hawkins, Ronnie J. Hawkins and a host of other beloved family and friends.
